There is a saying behind the rise of the notion of Pure Fashion. It is a sort of short story but is quite interesting. Astonished and annoyed after seeing the “non-sense” dressing sense of their daughters, some cautious mothers set out of their homes to form a group of responsible mothers.
The job of this group, full of self-said “responsible” mothers, was to teach their daughters, especially teenagers, how to dress with utter modesty. The goal was to train them to keep their dignity on the top of the priority table, whenever they felt an urge to buy some fashionable womens clothing.
Thus this “aim” led them to found Pure Fashion. They train their soon-to-be-a-lady daughters(read-school going girls) some basic ethics of choosing fashionable dresses which could pass successfully through the litmus test of dignity. No wonder, they need to go through an extensive training of seven months to learn the basics of “modest” fashion.
They have made certain guidelines about getting dressed. These prescriptive rules are an attempt to ensure that a young girl always remain in a boundary and she is not expected to deviate even slightly from the rule book.
They have made very interesting rules or you may call them a confusing, hilarious and ridiculous set of dogmas. It seems they have worked a lot while compiling their rule book. For example; the rules for shirts, the rules for trousers etc. Lets have a look.
Interestingly, they call their rules something which makes it “ possible to be stylish, cute and modest.” In precise, on their site they say, “ All styles should flatter your figure, but not draw extreme attention to any certain area.”
The rules don't allow a girl to wear a shirt which is made of thin fabric and which neckline goes down more than four fingers below the collar bone. Now could anybody ask them what a girl should wear when it is too clumsy and suffocating outside? Unfortunately, no designer designs a dress using his fingers as standard measurement.
Further, the rules force not to wear a tank top without a shirt, jacket or a sweater. Now tell me why somebody will wear a tank top if there is a sweater already below the neck. Damn these rules!
For pants, if you go according to the rules, you need to celebrate the end of skin-tight ones. It clearly prevents a wearer from wearing a sort of pant which is “too tight, especially in the seat or the thigh area.”
So what a modern and fashionable girl is expected to wear? The colorful pajamas that flutter with every blow of wind! More clearly, the rules inspite of being rules seem more of a game of word. Look following what they say about shorts.
“Shorts should be modest - no very short and/or tight shorts.” Now could anybody clarify how can a long stuff be called as shorts. Also it prohibits “panty lines.”
There is no scope for skirts which are short, if you become a follower of Pure Fashion. Anything which is not within the four fingers of the top of the knee cap is blasphemous. Again the finger measurement! They make bras a must-to-wear stuff but allow a complete “no-show” to all the thin straps such as; spaghetti straps etc. Further, they restrict an undergarment to become and outer-garment. You need to spend a part of your logical reasoning to understand this rule.
Interstingly, Pure Fashion believes that if you don't wear clothes “modestly”, people will not remember you as a civilized one. I wonder if the stranger who met you today was even aware of Pure Fashion. Moreover, it hardly gives you any scope to choose dresses according to your choice. It says no to “too loose” clothes even.
Unfortunately, you have to regret for the amount of money you just spent on naval piercing. Not only that you can't show your belly and your curvy spine line in a normal situation, even these body parts must be fully covered when you lift your arms over your head. It means you can't greet your favorite celebrity enthusiastically all with your hands raised up in the air. Now it is up to you how do you greet Pure Fashion.
